WINBC, Nokia and Telus Mobility Launch Canada's First Wireless Innovation Contest

Organizations call for contestants to enter their wireless applications by February 16, 2004 - Here’s a chance to get your newest ideas in front of some of the industries leading companies. As part of the 2004 WIRELESS Innovation Contest your latest creation will be measured up against applications from commercial and student developers from Canada and the United States.(SymbianOne.com Press) Vancouver, BC, December 15, 2003 ? The Wireless Innovation Network of BC, along with key partners Nokia and Telus Mobility, presents Canada?s first international wireless contest. Open to developers in the United States and Canada, the Wireless Innovation Contest 2004 gives contestants the chance to measure up their applications against other commercial and student developments.
The Wireless Innovation Contest 2004 presents five categories for contestants to enter their developed (an original commercial release of less than six months) application using PCS, WiFi, Bluetooth and/or any other industry accepted standard in a connected wireless environment:
1. Games and Entertainment
2. Business: an application designed to solve a business need
3. Public Sector: an application designed to meet the needs of healthcare, Government, educational institutions, etc.
4. Collaboration: an application that resulted from the collaboration of two or more businesses or organizations
5. Student: student entries that fall into one of the above four categories. Student entries will be judged against other student entries only.

Our panel of judges of senior individuals from the wireless and investment community anticipates significant new wireless innovation as some of North America?s most talented developers pitch against each other for the top prize: a profile on the Nokia Forum web site and fame among the developer community,? said Caroline Lewko, Vice President of WINBC.
The entry deadline for the Wireless Innovation Contest is February 16, 2004. The contest culminates in an Awards presentation and wireless voting for the Grand Winner at the ASI Exchange, March 9, 2004 www.asiexchange.bc.ca. During the Exchange there will be a Wireless Showcase and a special CEO Dinner.
