Scanbuy Releases ScanZoom - Price Checks From A Camera Phone |

 Scanbuy releases ScanZoom, a practical demonstration of how its Optical Intelligence barcode reading technology can enable consumer applications.
If you read our recent article on Scanbuy you will recall that one of the consumer applications CEO Olivier Attia saw for the technology was a scan-and-compare application for comparison shopping. So scan the bar code and a comparison shopping engine would tell you about the product and the best prices. Then you could either pay or walk away.
ScanBuy have now put its money where its mouth is and launched a commercial comparison shopping application in the shape of ScanZoom. With links to PriceGrabber or Amazon it requires a, supplied, macro lens (which is also sold separately which we guess means it is easy to lose) and is available for any ScanZoom web site for $19.99 US (plus $5 p&p.)
How practical the application is we hope to be able to report shortly. |
