Featuring smooth cinema-like video display quality at 30 frames per second and a 1.3 mega pixel camera, the BenQ S700 provides for a truly inspiring multimedia experience on-the-go.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 4, 2004 -
BenQ today unveiled its newest mobile phone, the sleek and stylish BenQ S700 mobile phone. Featuring smooth cinema-like video display quality at 30 frames per second and a 1.3 mega pixel camera, the BenQ S700 provides for a truly inspiring multimedia experience on-the-go.

"Providing 30 frames per second display quality, the S700 will redefine what people have come to expect from viewing movies on a mobile phone," said Irwin Chen, Vice President and General Manager of the Network and Communications Business Group. "Also possessing the capabilities of a 1.3 mega pixel camera and MP3 player, the S700 mobile phone provides a great multimedia rich phone for all occasions."

Video Recording and Playback

Equipped with high-performance video capabilities, the BenQ S700 mobile phone allows video recording in five different resolutions. Sporting video recording at 15 frames per second at 352 x 288 (CIF) resolution and 30 frames per second at 176 x 144 (QCIF) resolution, the BenQ S700 mobile phone offers unrivalled video recording quality found on any mobile phone. With the use of a mini SD card, the BenQ S700 also allows users the capability to record continuous and non-stop video. When viewing homemade videos or movie titles, the BenQ S700 mobile phone provides amazingly smooth cinema-quality displays at 30 frames per second as well as the option to view your movies in wide-screen display mode.

Embedded 1.3 Mega Pixel Camera

Featuring a 1.3 mega pixel camera with 8x digital zoom, the S700's embedded camera allows a maximum resolution of 1280 x 960, ideal for printing 3 x 5 photos. In addition to this, the BenQ S700 also features 11 special picture effects as well as functions such as Image Rotation, Face Filter Application and Photo Album Slide Show. For shooting pictures in dimly lit areas, the BenQ S700 also comes equipped with a LED flash.

MP3 Player

As well as providing high-performance video functions, the BenQ S700 also seeks to satisfy consumers need for auditory enjoyment. Functioning as a MP3 player, the BenQ S700 sports easy-to-use keys that initiate functions such as single track repeat and playlist repeat. Sporting embedded speakers, all your favorite songs and tunes can be played in pristine clarity and loudness for all to enjoy or in the privacy of your own space with personal stereo headphones.

Extendable Memory

Bundled with a 32MB mini SD card and mini SD card adaptor, the possibilities on the BenQ S700 are only limited by the number of mini SD cards. Compatible with all mini SD cards currently on the market, the BenQ S700 lets you transfer MP3, video files or other data onto your PC with ease. Supporting USB 1.1, the BenQ S700 also functions as a mobile storage device and can be charged via the USB connection.

The BenQ S700 mobile phone will be available worldwide beginning in October.
