Hello Mobile Enthusiast... Welcome to another Location technology news roundup. Since turkey is on the mind of many I'll start by sharing a couple of fun, Thanksgiving related tips that you may find handy! Ever wanted to know how to set the dinner table to really impress? Here's a cool visualization from Visual.ly that will show you exactly how to accomplish that... funny, the geoGeek in me immediately thought to myself that a map of a typical holiday table would be a cool project to work on! Are you a photo junkie like yours truly? If so then here's a fun creation anyone can accomplish and you'll be guaranteed to wow the guests at the holiday table. Another awesome photo project you can work on involves your Instagram account... imagine creating awesome photocards (high quality too) from Instagram photos. This resource from Copygram enables you to do just that. Another good reason to upload images of some maps you've made or perhaps other data visualizations and then do something creative like drop a card in the mail for your client!  Nokia HERE, pushing location beyond Nokia - Nokia's To further extend its location services, Nokia is launching a maps application for iOS under the HERE brand. Based on HTML5, it will include offline capabilities, voice-guided walk navigation, and public transport directions. The application is scheduled to be available for free download from Apple's App Store in the coming weeks - FYI: if you use iOS then be sure to check out HERE on iOS which hit the iTunes store on Nov 19... its pretty cool!
Geotagging Marine Mammals - USGS Study Tracks Pacific Walrus, Observes Effects of Arctic Sea Ice Loss on Behavior. "The loss of sea ice is the 'why' for the change in walrus behavior; the tracking data tells us the 'where' in terms of their new forage patterns," said USGS Director Marcia McNutt.
Webmapping Tip - National Wetlands Inventory - Wetlands Mapper - The US FWS provides users with access to wetland inventory data online via their Wtlands Mapper web service, an ArcGIS.com service.
