Welcome to another mobile, location technology news update from LBSzone as we get deeper into August and the kids are headed back for another school year.
Amazing for me to think that when I first started penning Location Technology industry news my oldest was just starting pre-school and now this school year he's a high school senior... wow, time flies! Speaking of kids, there's no denying that many people will be sending their kids off to school or College with tablet computers this year... heck, I'm thinking of grabbing one for my 11 year old now that we have options in the $200 range! So why exactly are people buying tablets and what kind of things are influencing buying decisions? These questions are answered in this interesting report that sampled some 6,000 tablet owners - Career Center. Check out the latest including opportunities for a technician, data processor, Android developer and more. Finally, perhaps you heard about this story of how the crew behind the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline project in Canada have recently attempted to "mislead" the public and have been accused of lying with maps! An interesting story here. Oh, and before I forget, those of you who are fans of Instagram and not running auto updates on your mobile apps, be sure to checkout details of Instagram 3.0 released last week - great stuff here including the new Map feature... quite huge! Have a great week everyone and remember if you still can't get enough then be sure to also follow me via @LBSzone and @gletham Twitter. Be sure to have a quick look at all the great tips and images we've been sharing on Pinterest too!

Nokia Connects Shares Why People Are Switching to Lumia - I heard from my friends at Nokia Connects and they've shared some details and infographics on the reasons that people are electing to make the switch to Nokia Lumia smartphones. Some of the compelling reasons as seen in the infographic include the unique designs, the Nokia customer care, a love for Nokia, and even simply out of boredom with their other devices. One reader did comment to me that the graphic is perhaps amusing given Nokia's dramatic loss of marketshare!
