Telmap, the original pioneers in mobile location solutions, announces today the availability of the free Telmap Navigator app on Vodafone AppSelect in the UK.

Providing instant, relevant and reliable information for people on-the-go

LONDON, 16 July 2012, – Vodafone AppSelect is Vodafone’s branded app store and comes pre-embedded on every Vodafone Android handset. Telmap Navigator is featured in Vodafone’s AppSelect “Starter Pack” and will be promoted to Vodafone users during the summer. Telmap Navigator is the only free LBS app offering non-crowd sourced maps, providing users with a level of quality and reliability previously only attainable from expensive apps. As a result, Telmap Navigator is already at the top of the Vodafone AppSelect charts with a 5-star rating.

Telmap Navigator allow users to find, explore and interact with the people and places around them in one robust application. Naturally, Telmap Navigator offers in-car navigation, text to speech technology announcing street names, a dedicated pedestrian mode and Facebook integration. Moreover and in line with Telmap’s commitment of providing a truly local user experience, the Telmap Navigator app currently offers seamless integration of several known brands in the UK with several more in the pipeline. Among the already available local content providers is Barclays, for easy discovery of bike stations and Ordnance Survey for reliable post code search in the UK. Also currently embedded are Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor, comprehensive city guides for planning all things local.

“We are happy to announce that Vodafone AppSelect in the UK is the first place that Android users can find and download our free Telmap Navigator app; offering Vodafone’s UK Android user base with a comprehensive location-based service that addresses all their needs while on-the-go.” said Motti Kushnir, Telmap CMO
