BOSTON--The major manufacturers primarily use MWC to announce new high-end models. Analytical documentation of these products was carried out using the Strategy Analytics SpecTRAX program.
“Huawei’s powerful and impressive Ascend portfolio, equipped with “retina displays”
Steve Entwistle, Vice President of Strategy Analytics, commented on the advanced features of the handsets announced at MWC, “Android dominated the operating systems, with the introduction of Ice Cream Sandwich and the continued presence of Gingerbread. The Microsoft Windows Phone OS was only found on two handsets. Symbian Belle was found solely on Nokia’s 808 PureView.”
According to Stuart Robinson, Director of the SpecTRAX program, “Turning to functionality, the average display size of these new smartphones was over four inches. In response to power-hungry larger displays, battery power had to be increased. The Nokia 808 PureView has revolutionized smartphone photography with its astonishing 41MP camera.”
Mr. Entwistle added, “Huawei’s powerful and impressive Ascend portfolio, equipped with “retina displays” and quad core processors, offers processing performance better than most tablets.”
