MoPub Launches New Capabilities for Game Developers with Unity 3D, MRAID and ORMMA Support as Leading Mobile Gaming Publishers Adopt Platform - Mobile ad server announces partnership to support Mobage, ngmoco’s leading mobile social games platform

SAN FRANCISCO – December 6, 2011 – MoPub , the mobile advertising startup founded by former AdMob and Google employees, is today announcing full support for MRAID and ORMMA rich media standards established by the Interactive Advertising Bureau. In addition to new Unity 3D compatibility and the company’s recently-launched MoPub Marketplace – described as a real-time bidding “trading floor” for mobile ads, MoPub has also signed key long-term partnerships with top companies, including an alliance with mobile games leader, ngmoco.

MoPub’s adoption of ORMMA and MRAID industry standards will enable publishers to leverage advanced rich media ads, such as in-app expansion ads and HTML5 animation, more efficiently and easily through the MoPub platform. MoPub is also the first ad server to support games developed using the popular video game tool Unity 3D. These product updates, coupled with MoPub’s ability to manage direct-sold ads, ad network mediation, and real-time bidding campaigns in a single product, have attracted top tier gaming publishers to MoPub’s highly flexible platform.

MoPub has recently entered an alliance with mobile games leader, ngmoco to serve directly-sold Marketplace ads as well as ad network campaigns on Mobage, ngmoco’s mobile social games platform. ngmoco’s parent company DeNA is a world-leader in mobile and operates social games network Mobage globally.

“We felt MoPub offered the right services for us,” said Nate Morgan, director of advertising for ngmoco. “MoPub will be powering all direct sold and Marketplace campaigns as well as contributing significantly to the facilitation of ad network demand. We are impressed with the efficiencies that MoPub brings to the table, while enabling us to retain the control we desire.”

U.K.-based mobile games startup, Neon Play, also joined MoPub’s growing list of global gaming publishers, along with other leading gaming partners, including: Animoca, Miniclip, Fluik, and Com2Us. The platform powers top chart titles such as Paper Glider, Office Zombie, Gravity Guy, Slice It! and My Car Salon.

“Having investigated several advertising platforms, we've found MoPub to be the best one to monetize our advertising inventory,” said Oli Christie, CEO and founder of Neon Play. “Marketplace proves that mobile advertising doesn’t have to be confusing and opaque, and sometimes the best solutions are the simplest.”

MoPub Marketplace is a real-time bidding platform for mobile publishers to generate more ad revenue on top of their ad network relationships. Its interface gives publishers a clear, transparent market price for their inventory while retaining full control and transparency over their inventory – a first for the industry.

“Our goal with the MoPub Marketplace was to create an efficient and liquid exchange of high quality mobile ad inventory and top-tier advertisers that supplemented the ad revenue that publishers are already receiving via direct sold and ad network campaigns,” said Jim Payne, CEO and co-founder of MoPub. “The addition of these well-known gaming publishers is a major step toward driving those results.”

MoPub introduced its Marketplace in October 2011 and has already experienced 30 percent week-over-week growth in ad dollars on its platform.

About MoPub:
MoPub is a one-stop ad serving platform designed to help mobile app publishers manage and optimize their ad inventory on iOS and Android devices. MoPub works with mobile application publishers, both large and small, to turn their apps into businesses. Unlike other ad servers, exchanges, and mediation networks that only provide one solution, MoPub manages all of a publisher’s advertising inventory needs – including direct sales to brands, house ads, ad network mediation, or real-time bidding (RTB) campaigns through MoPub Marketplace – all in one product. MoPub's single, open-source and flexible SDK means users get complete control and transparency into how much revenue they are receiving from every ad or campaign.

MoPub was founded by former AdMob and Google team members and has raised over $6.5 million in venture capital from Accel Partners and Harrison Metal Capital. MoPub is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York City and is actively hiring across engineering and business functions.
