The weekly LBSzone social location news round-up billed as "The Social Location Report" was released Nov 8, 2011... enjoy
Welcome to another Location technology news update. Thanks to Esri again for hosting another terrific DevMeetUp event, this one last week in Fort Collins, CO where we estimated that about 100 GeoGeeks and GIS Pros gathered for a beer, some good Mexican eats, and some Geo Talks and Geo Socializing. We were all impressed with the turnout. No surprise, the topics of mobile app dev, Tablets in particular, web app vs client app, html5 and related matters were hot stuff... I also hopped on stage and delivered a discussion on social media for the corporate GIS environment - thanks for the nice reception and feedback! FYI, a few photos from DevMeetUp CO are here, videos can be found on Vimeo (more to come soon) and if you want to attend a DevMeetup in your area checkout the schedule HERE (DC, Raleigh NC, and LA events are this Thursday). FYI, follow all the updates from meets on twitter via #devmeetup. Finally, if the topic of mobile and citizen engagement is on your mind then take note of a webinar tomorrow morning from Esri and CitySourced... details below.
