In addition to the Santa Clara event on December 7-9, 2011, DevCon5 will also run at ITEXPO in Miami, on February 1-3, 2012
TMC and Crossfire Media today announced that the third iteration of the successful DevCon5 Conference will take place on December 7-9, 2011 at the Network Meeting Center in Santa Clara, California. Since its launch earlier this year, DevCon 5 has become the industry’s leading road show addressing the technical and business issues associated with HTML5. Previous events in Manhattan and Austin have attracted scores of web developers; software architects; graphic artists; and business executives, and the third iteration of the program in Santa Clara looks to be the biggest event to date.
“CNN recently released a survey citing software developer as the single “Best Job in America” and we’ve been talking about this very notion since the launch of the DevCon5 series,” said event producer Carl Ford, of Crossfire Media. “The mobile revolution and the rise of HTML5 are creating a world of new opportunities for developers, and DevCon5 is the one place where people can learn everything they need to know about HTML5.”
Not only is HTML5 growing in popularity, but in many cases it is replacing other languages and software development environments, as future versions of the Apple OS and Windows-8 will not allow Flash and other application plug-ins. Many of the industry’s leading developers and best-selling authors (such as Steve and Jeff Fulton), are speaking at DevCon5 to discuss this trend, and to identify the new languages and technologies that are emerging.
