Once again, Nokia will be hosting their annual Nokia Capital Market Day (half day) event on Feb 11, 2011 in London

This will be a half-day event, with registration and lunch starting at 11 a.m. UK time, followed by presentations and Q&A from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. UK time. For those not attending in person, a webcast will be available.

Commentary:

If you believe in speculation, one tech resource (engadget) seems to think that Nokia will be using the event to announce, among other things, a deal with Microsoft. Pretty timely and interesting really, particularly as rumors have been plentiful recently around the social web, concerning partnership deals that would see a deal struck with Microsoft, or perhaps announcements of devices rolling out with the Android mobile OS... or perhaps both are a possibility??

I suppose I can see a deal with Nokia attempting a Windows Phone 7 powered mobile... likely fitting somewhere within the E series portfolio (think business user, exchange email etc...) targeting a North American market where Blackberry has carved out a nice niche. In all honesty though, should Nokia make a dramatic move abandoning Symbian^3 and the N series direction in favor of Windows "inside" the North American market in particular would be devastated for Nokia. With google's Android surging in popularity with develoeprs and end users that would be a natural direction in my mind, however, given Nokia's history you just never know!
