Tamoggemon is proud to announce that it will be among the first vendors to finish development of an application using Qt for Symbian. BallZ, a clone of the popular evergreen JezzBall, will be released on various stores in the next weeks.
Tam Hanna, Tamoggemon's CEO, states the following:
"We were able to complete the port of our Palm OS game to Symbian OS in record time using Qt. Even though the development toolkit is still in its infancy, it provides an extremely effective development process. Compared to plain Symbian C++, we experienced improvements of up to 200%."
Of course, Qt still has significant weaknesses which make the mass distribution of Qt-based products almost impossible (hence the wait). However, the situation is getting better by the minute - current expectations point to a delivery of BallZ for Symbian by March 2010.
Because of this, Tamoggemon is currently looking for a few testers. Testers need to own a touchscreen device running Symbian, and should get in touch via tamhan at tamoggemon dot com.
