Frbiz Compares Nokia N97 with Sony Ericsson U1 Print E-mail
Written by Frbiz
Monday, 04 January 2010

BEIJING, Dec. 29 -- Frbiz.com, one of China's leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, compares the Nokia N97 with the Sony Ericsson U1.

First, both models have a touch-screen design; in appearance the U1 Sony Ericsson measures 112 x 55 x 13mm and weighs 126g, while the measurement of the Nokia N97 mobile phone is 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9mm and it weighs 150g. Compared with the Sony Ericsson U1, the Nokia N97 is thicker, although still less than 3mm thick, but these days thin and light does not count as an advantage.

The candy bar style of the Sony Ericsson U1 is very elegant, especially with its 3.5-inch giant screen with 16 million colours, and a 16:9 ratio. The 360 x 640 pixel resolution can be said to be one of the best in the mobile phone market.

However the Nokia N97 is not inferior to the Sony Ericsson U1 in terms of screen area. Its 3.5-inch screen also has 16 million colours. The 16:9 ratio and 360 x 640 pixel resolution also make the phone a classic.

As we all know, whether a mobile phone's interface is good or bad depends not just on the size of the core system; optimization, and a user-friendly interface are equally important in a mobile phone's applications. Both phones use the Symbian S60v5 system; although both of them have the similar operational patterns, the style of the interface can be said to be very different. As we all know, Sony Ericsson's unique UI techniques are recognized by everyone; in particular, the PSP's entertainment-oriented interface is highly thought of, but the Symbian S60v5 system also enables users to have a better experience. The Nokia N97 allows users to customize the desktop, but this also means that it will take a new user a while to becoming familiar with the phone.

First of all, the phones' menus are very refined; the user can easily find movie and music files in the phones, while the Sony Ericsson U1 has a unique UI media interface and the experience of operation is superior to that of the Nokia N97. The Nokia N97, in comparison, is relatively simple in terms of media capability, but the user can still easily find music files and play them through the menu.

This year in the mobile phone market, the quality of a phone's camera has become a major focus; two of the most popular cell phones naturally are not any exception. In particular, the Sony Ericsson U1 has a 12 megapixel camera, a visible advantage compared to the 5 megapixel Nokia N97.

The Sony Ericsson U1's entertainment capabilities are naturally superior. Especially in terms of video and audio during playback, the powerful experience is very nice, especially with a professional-level headset which delivers a high-quality auditory experience.

Although the Nokia N97 mobile phone's entertainment features are not as good as those of the Sony Ericsson U1, taking product positioning into account, the Nokia N97 is equipped with a full keyboard, as well as the ability to send and receive mail, so it is more user-friendly. Especially for a business phone, the Nokia's powerful features make it fit for a king.
