Powerful S60 Active Standby Replacement Software to Completely Personalize Your Home Screen
3D Visual Effects, Four Views and Five Plugin Options to Entirely Customize Your S60 Active Standby Screen and Put More Functionality at Your Fingertips
Freiburg, GERMANY - December 17, 2009 - Paragon Software Group, a leading software developer for mobile devices and desktop PCs, released a new version of its best-selling Handy Shell application, an advanced custom replacement of the entire S60 Active Standby screen. Handy Shell 2.0, designed to completely replace and customize the home screen according to the user's wishes, implements touch navigation and 3D "Cube" kinetic scrolling for S60 touchscreen phones.
Handy Shell has four customizable views and five plugin options. The application takes over all functions of the S60 menu key, and adds extra options or disables unnecessary ones. The program allows easy access to necessary information, which includes shortcuts to the most frequently used applications and contacts at a glance. For S60 3.1 (or higher) users, Handy Shell's 3D "Cube" menu allows users to slide their finger over the screen to spin the cube and quickly navigate between screens. Handy Shell offers four "Today" screen views to capture all important info on the main screen of your S60 smartphone. The "Today" view shows overall information about phone settings, ongoing calendar events, missed calls and SMS messages, new e-mails, weather forecasts -- through integration with the Handy Weather program -- and even provides shortcuts to necessary applications using five types of fully customizable plugins.
Additional Handy Shell 2.0 features include:
* Applications view with fast access to 12 of your most frequently used apps.
* Weather plugin with a five-day weather forecast for your home city, and access to detailed local and distant weather information in Celsius and Fahrenheit. The weather plugin is supported by satellite weather maps and includes optional hourly weather forecasts. (Weather plugin available only for Handy Weather owners).
* "Contacts" view shows 12 favorite contacts with optional speed dial or SMS actions.
* "Photos" view for instant access to your image gallery.
* Full touchscreen support to extend user's touch screen experience (for S60 5.0).
* Application launcher to access contacts and applications by typing the first characters.
* Wallpaper support for better customization.
* Complete integration with default phone applications.
Handy Shell 2.0 is available for 19.95 USD (14.95 EUR, VAT included) via download from http://www.epocware.com and http://www.penreader.com. Handy Shell 2.0 with Handy Weather integration is available for 39.95 USD (29.95 EUR, VAT included) For other sales inquiries, please contact Paragon at
