Tuesday, 15 December 2009

SAN JOSE, Calif.-- Jungo Ltd., a leading provider of connectivity software and drivers, today announced the worldwide availability of its end-to-end USB solution for mobile broadband devices.

Highlights:

    * Solution ensures seamless connectivity between mobile devices and hosts
    * Full integration with Windows 7, new WWAN framework and NCM support
    * Optimized for Smartphones, Datacards and 3G/4G wireless modems.

The solution, which is based on Jungo's USBwareT and DriverCoreT technologies, ensures seamless connectivity between host platforms, such as PCs and laptops, and the increasingly wide variety of mobile broadband devices on the market.

"Mobile broadband devices are a prominent growth area for USB. Jungo's end-to-end solution, including drivers, firmware and test tools, will enable even faster growth in this important market," states Brian O'Rourke, Principal Analyst, Digital Entertainment, In-Stat.

The solution is optimized for mobile broadband devices, including smartphones, PDAs, datacards, and 3G/4G routers or wireless access points. The USB functionality supported by the solution ranges from downloading to a host, high-speed data and media transfer, network management to personal area connectivity and power charging.

Included in the end-to-end solution are the PC USB drivers, embedded device stack (firmware) and testing tools to ensure interoperability, stability and robustness. Each component has been widely deployed by Tier-1 platform manufacturers and OEMs and is comprehensively field-tested.

DriverCore, the complete USB CDC/Modem/DFU/serial drivers solution, supports all of today's PC operating systems, including Windows 2000\XP\Vista\Windows 7\Windows Mobile, Linux and Mac and includes an extensive array of drivers including CDC-ACM\ECM\EEM\NCM\WWAN\QMI, DFU, GPS and CCID.

USBware, Jungo's high quality embedded USB software protocol stack supports the matching protocol on the device side and has already been ported to more than 35 Real-Time Operating Systems, including Nucleus, VxWorks, Linux, Android, ThreadX, Symbian and Windows Mobile.

"USB has become a mission-critical component of mobile broadband devices, and getting it right on both the PC and embedded side requires world class technology and expertise," said Ophir Herbst VP and General Manager of Jungo's Connectivity Software Division. "The Jungo solution provides a complete PC and device side software solution, enabling manufacturers to quickly integrate and release quality products to market backed by Jungo's global support organization."
