SAN FRANCISCO, October 19 -- SPB Software, a leading mobile software developer, has won the prestigious Smaato Advertising Award 2009 in the "Windows Mobile Phone Software" category for its outstanding mobile television solution - SPB TV.
SPB Software's team members were happy to officially receive this honourable prize during the grand ceremony that took place in San Francisco on October 16th 2009.
SPB Software earned this award despite stiff competition from about 250 other nominees from all corners of the world. Ragnar Kruse, CEO & Co-Founder of Smaato said at the ceremony: "We highlight with this award ceremony the coolest content on the planet. We've received entries from around the world and we are seeing really fresh ideas and great innovation in content and services."
A jury of distinguished market experts acknowledged SPB TV as a user-oriented, innovative and simply outstanding software. "Unlike most other existing TV services, the use of SPB TV can almost replace a common TV service. It is designed to make watching TV on the mobile device as simple and comfortable as on TV," reads the "Award Winners" section of Smaato's own website.
Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, CEO of SPB said: "This seems to be a week of awards for us - we already received a few of them last Monday from Handango, the leading online sales platform worldwide. Besides several awards for products, we have won the overall category and the best developer of the year in Windows mobile. To get this Smaato award is a big honour for us, we did the best we could do. We are proud of all these awards and we regard them as an obligation to keep working hard on useful and feature-rich applications."
