The January 29 launch of Samsung Mobile Applications marks an additional direction in Samsung’s commitment to a healthy developer eco-system.
This online application store means that Samsung Mobile Innovator members can now make their applications available to a potential audience of millions of Samsung mobile customers.
Initially focused on the UK market, this new online application storefront provides the perfect channel for showcasing and distributing your mobile applications and content whether it is commercial or freeware.
Putting you in full control of your business, there is no initial outlay or ongoing costs associated with marketing or hosting your product on the storefront and freeware is distributed at no cost to the developer.
"For Samsung Mobile Innovator members this represents a fantastic opportunity for them to get their applications to a large Samsung-user audience very quickly,” explains Phil Northam, Global Marketing Manager at Samsung Mobile Innovator.
The online store will be launched at next month's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with an initial selection of 1,100 applications that Samsung's UK-based customers will be able to load onto their devices. In its initial phase the store will support both Samsung S60 and Windows Mobile platforms, with a further upgraded planned for later in 2009.
