damaka Launches Industry's First Unified Communications & Collaborations Application for Symbian OS Print E-mail

damaka Launches Industry's First Unified Communications & Collaborations Application for Symbian OS Based Mobile Devices - damakar supports multiple mobile devices (SmartPhones, PocketPC, PDA) running on both Windows and Symbian OS on different networks (3G, WiFi, 4G) both in Peer-to-Peer and Client-Server modes.

Richardson, Texas - February 2, 2009 -- damakar, a technology pioneer in unified communications and collaboration (UCC) software, announces their next generation Personal SoftswitchTM Collaborative suite for mobile devices operating on Symbian OS. damaka raised the bar of mobile experience by supporting the collaboration and communication suite on both Symbian and Windows Mobile OS. "We are excited to provide the industry first peer-to-peer and traditional client-server collaborative environment to share applications like PowerPoint, Excel on Symbian based mobile devices along with presence, IM, and voice", said Siva Chaturvedi, damaka CEO. "With Symbian OS holding a significant mobile devices market share, it is important for damaka to enable its application to support Symbian based devices."

As part of the next phase release for Symbian OS, damaka would be launching the two-way live video conferencing features shortly. Damaka already supports two-way live video conferencing on Windows Mobile devices. Enabling damaka application on Windows (which was announced 2008) and Symbian OS increases the number of devices that can inter-op on damaka application. Using this innovative application, a traveling sales executive with his mobile device could remotely join an online live application sharing (such as a PowerPoint presentation) meeting with his sales team along with voice session on a single application - a true mobile collaboration and communication experience. This cost effective solution is completely hosted and managed by an enterprise or operator in either peer-to-peer or traditional client-server mode.

Many of the communication and collaboration features, such as Presence, IM, Voice, 2-way live Video, File Sharing, and Application Sharing, that are supported by the desktop version are also supported in damakar mobile application. damakar mobile version is device (PDA, SmartPhones, PocketPC) and network (3G, WiFi, 4G) neutral.
