We've known for some time that UIQ was on its way out... well now it's official as Reuters reports that UIQ has filed for bankruptcy.
From the Reuters report... The software developer, which is based in Sweden, began cutting staff six months ago after its owners decided to merge its software with the Symbian platform. " "There are no opportunities to create a new line of business in the current financial climate," UIQ Chief Executive Johan Sandberg told Reuters."
It's interesting that the company, owned by Sony Ericsson and Motorola is going down in this manner... essentially by filing for bankruptcy it means that many creditors will be out of luck... to bad it had to go down this way.
