Samsung has launched a beta of its S60 developer support site with content and the first Samsung specific S60 SDK plug-in.
Samsung has extended its commitment to the S60 platform with the beta launch of the innovator.samsungmobile.com Web site.
Currently the site contains a selection of Symbian OS and S60 documentation along with the first Samsung specific S60 tool: the Touchwheel API SDK plug-in that enables developers to take advantage of the touch wheel on the Samsung SGH-i450 music orientated phone.
While the site is in beta there is no option to register, which means the discussion boards, Market.dev (a mechanism for proposing application to Samsung), and Lab.dev (a mechanism for accessing a range of Samsung device over the Internet for testing purposed) are not yet live.
The launch of the full site is expected at the Smartphone Show in October.
