Despite recent changes there is still much to commend development on UIQ 3. In the latest UIQ Developer Community feature, Richard Bloor spoke to Gary Leach about the development of GDesk.
Gary is a games developer by profession and UIQ developer by choice. GDesk is an application that has created an enthusiastic following among UIQ users. The article looks at how Gary found the inspiration for GDesk and some of the technical challenges it presented.
With the transition to the open source Symbian OS, we can but hope that Gary's comments about the relative merits of UIQ compared to S60 are part of the consideration in building the new OS.
