Madrid, Spain and Åland, Finland. – 25 June 2008 – Cystelcom Sistemas, a leading supplier of 3G mobile video solutions, announced the opening of Veedia Scandinavia in Åland, Finland. Veedia Scandinavia is a subsidiary of Veedia™ Mobile Video Solutions, a Cystelcom spin-off. Its opening spearheads Cystelcom’s ambitious plans for international distribution of Veedia Mobile Video Solutions, and the recently released Flash 3G Video Gateway.
“We selected Finland because of its optimal environment for development and acceptance of mobile technology. Finland is not only home to some of the world’s leaders in mobility like Nokia, but also houses many inventive mobile technology companies,” commented Manuel Cuenca Vélez, CEO of Cystelcom Sistemas, “and we believe Veedia will become a key supplier in the market.”
Veedia Scandinavia offers the complete Veedia Mobile Video Solutions product line, enabling a wide range of video and multimedia services. And now, with the recent addition of Veedia Flash 3G Video Gateway, 3G users can experience previously unobtainable multimedia services that offer real bi-directional video/audio communication and enabling users to interact with any Flash enabled application. “The platform provides a full Flash experience that supports any Flash Player version—this means what can be done on the Web can now be extended to any 3G or SIP device, and we’re the first to offer this kind of service,” said Raúl Partida, Director of Veedia Scandinavia.
Veedia Scandinavia’s initial focus is on mobile advertising solutions and location based services for operators, advertisers and brands as Finland was an early adopter of mobile advertising and there is a growing demand for more engaging video and multimedia mobile services. “We are also very excited about the synergy we are seeing in other sectors such as entertainment, banking and health care,“ added Partida.
The Veedia Mobile Video Solutions platform provides the foundation for these sought-after services allowing essentially unlimited creativity for mobile services offerings. “From launching a real-time interactive mobile advertising campaign that captures valuable customer response data, to deploying mobile search services that allow end-users to interact with Google Map results, anything is possible with Veedia,” commented Partida.
Raúl Partida heads the new Scandinavia division and expects rapid growth for Veedia due to the increasing demand for innovative mobile technology solutions in the market. Over the last seven years Partida has spent his time in the telecom sector working for companies that specialize in gateway solutions and mobile content; customers included Movistar, Cable & Wireless and Telcel. Partida is not a newcomer to Scandinavia, he lives in Mariehanmn, Finland, and is the founder and CEO of Just a Key Solutions—an application development and consulting services firm.
