First game nominated for the Navteq Global LBS Challenge Award.

>

Karlsruhe / Bonn, Germany – 03.06.2008 The Orbster GmbH was founded in Karlsruhe and Munich in January 2008. Orbster is nominated as a semi-finalist in the Global Navteq LBS Challenge with its innovative game concept. It is the only German company taking part in the finals in Singapore on June 16th.

The company’s aim is to develop and distribute successful games for the growing market in location- based content for mobile phones. The first product from Orbster is GPS Mission, a multiplayer scavenger hunt game which launched its beta phase at the end of May. Players can create scavenger hunts on www.gpsmission.com that anyone who has a GPS-enabled mobile phone can play and complete “out there.” Orbster is seed-financed by the High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bonn and Mesago Holding GmbH, Stuttgart/Peking.

The core of the integrated online and mobile game platform is the “Orbster Location Entertainment Platform” that allows every player and provider of game ideas to produce location-based games for navigation-enabled mobile phones – based on GPS or other technologies - without any programming knowledge. Orbster’s business model is based on selling of digital goods and “power-ups” that offer the player added value.

With this innovative game, Orbster was nominated as a semi-finalist in the Navteq Global LBS Challenge, one of the best-known competitions in the location-based service sector of map supplier Navteq. The finals will be held on 16 th of June during CommunicAsia in Singapore.

Orbster’s Managing Directors are Georg Broxtermann (formerly Burda, ProSiebenSat.1) and Jörn Rehse (Deutsche Börse Group, Softlab Group). High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bonn and, as a side investor, Mesago Holding GmbH, a leading supplier of outdoor media in China, are financing Orbster’s seed phase.

Georg Broxtermann: “We believe that, with our outstanding team and our investor set-up, we will make a crucial contribution to the market for mobile location-based entertainment. Our nomination as a semi-finalist in the Navteq Global LBS Challenge for the Asia-Pacific region makes us confident that our games will be successful in many markets.”

Holger Heinen, Senior-Investmentmanager High-Tech Gründerfonds: „We are pleased to be able to invest in such an innovative company. The quality of the media- and games-experienced team has convinced us.”

Klaus M. Hilligardt, Founder and Managing Director of Mesago Holding GmbH: „We invested in Orbster because of the great potential of the mobile applications of Orbster in the strongly growing chinese market. The feedback from our partners in China on the services and the business model of Orbster is very positive.“

About High-Tech Gründerfonds

The High-Tech Gründerfonds invests venture capital in young technology companies with high prospects that are transferring promising scientific research to business enterprises. The seed financing of up to 500 T€ shall result in a technical prototype, a proof of concept or a market launch. High-Tech Gründerfonds has access to a fund volume of around 272 million Euro. Investors in this public-private partnership include the Federal Ministry for Economy and Technology, the KfW Banking Group as well as the industry companies BASF, Robert Bosch, Carl Zeiss, Daimler, Deutsche Telekom and Siemens. http://www.high-tech-gruenderfonds.de/htgf/

About the GPS Mission game:

The aim of GPS Mission is to complete the missions set up by other players. Whilst doing so, the player collects gold that is placed by the mission’s creator and completes photo missions. With the collected gold, the player purchases trophies to show his community which missions he has completed where and when. The greatest collector of gold in the beta phase will be offered a trip to the Oktoberfest 2008 in Munich. There are no costs incurred by players apart from the data transfer costs payable to the mobile operator. The gaming experience with a GPS-enabled phone is very easy and intuitive.
