Actai launches public beta of C2Call, world's first browser-based phone service Print E-mail
Written by Actai
Wednesday, 16 April 2008

WERL, GERMANY, 15 Apr. 2008 - Actai Networks today launched the public beta of C2Call, a Web-based telephone service that lets anyone using a Windows, Linux or Apple computer make browser-based international phone calls for free.

"C2Call is a leap forward," said Martin Feuerhahn, director of Actai Networks GmbH. "There's nothing to install. It works on all platforms. Unlike closed networks, it connects anyone. And all you need is a microphone and speaker, or a headset connected to your PC. It works at home, office and on public terminals while traveling; to make a call, just log in to C2Call wherever you are online."

Click here to begin using C2Call: http://www.c2call.com.

To begin, log-in by entering your email address and a password. To make a call, send an invitation via email to anyone you want to talk with; all they need to do is click the link in the email message, C2Call user or not, no registration required.

C2Call works by temporarily loading a Java widget into Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera and other Internet browsers that support Javascript. The widget adds VOIP functions to the browser. Unlike other VOIP-based telephony services, there is no software to download, install and configure.

"This is the world's true first browser-based VOIP software," said Feuerhahn. "It works just like Web-based email, instantly, to anyone on the Web, at home or at the office. And they don't even need to sign up for the service."

Actai plans to add support for landlines and mobile phones as C2Call evolves.

Actai Networks Pte Ltd. in Singapore and Actai Networks GmbH in Germany develop and operate mobile phone solutions in Europe and Asia. (www.actai.com)
