SymbianOne Feature Article

The Platform Promise: S60 Devices From Samsung - Java technology was heralded as write-once-run-everywhere - we know the reality was somewhat different. As the first Samsung S60 devices arrive in the SymbianOne offices Richard Bloor asks if the S60 platform serves Symbian C++ developers better. In this article Bloor tests the Samsung SGH-G810, SGH-I550, SGH-L870, and SGH-I8510 (INNOV8) S60 devices.

emoze Set To Grab Global Market Share in 2008 Print E-mail
Written by Symbianone

Latest emoze launches revealed for 2008 Mobile World Congress, as over 300 million Nokia Nseries handsets are emoze ready with emoze push-communication software in the download folder.

New Nokia Nseries devices to be delivered into the global market in 2008, will be emoze ready with emoze push-email software, set for users to immediately begin to send and receive emails, calendar and contact information.

Users can simple select ‘download emoze’ from the ‘Download!’ folder of the Nseries device and soon begin to benefit from the faster, cheaper and more efficient push-communication technology emoze has developed.

“Emoze has rolled the dice and will again shake-up the ‘push’ market in 2008”, says Eitan Linker emoze CEO. “With the extended offering to new Nokia device users, along with various corporate and consumer options set for release, emoze looks to further ‘emoze-o-polize’ the push-communication market.”

Potential users are not limited to those using Nokia Nseries devices. Emoze mobile email is available to tens of millions with a compatible phone and a data package. All that is required is a simple free download from www.emoze.com, and users can begin to send and receive push-email, calendar and contact information to their device.

Security and privacy of data are key features of emoze – all messages are stored behind the firewall (either a home or corporate network), and are accessed only when they reach the right mobile device or PC. This not only saves the user connectivity-related costs but also delivers increased battery efficiency, memory use and CPU.

Following the impact of the mobile push-email showdown with BlackBerry at 3GSM Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2007, emoze continued to drive with its push-communication technology and capped its first year with a number of milestones:

  • Emoze Versions 1.1 through 1.5 released to the consumer market, delivering faster, cheaper and more secure push-email
  • Emoze reinforced its speedy efficiency, with another showdown triumph at CTIA in Orlando
  • Emoze highlighted its superior security, due to push-nature of the service and refusal to replicate and store data outside the users own server
  • Emoze offers Gmail and Google Apps users on-the-go, a free downloadable push-email option

“With the Nokia offering, emoze is upping its game. In 2008, anyone with a capable device and data package can capitalise on emoze, and extend their email experience from desktop to device,” continues Linker. “As ever, emoze will continue to offer the push-experience: Anytime, Anywhere!”

Emoze will be appearing at Mobile World Congress, in Hall 4 Level 1, Israel Mobile Association (IMA) Brokerage Pavilion and at the Showstoppers media event, 10 February 2008
