From Sony Ericsson Developer World... Express Signed is a relatively new option to get your Symbian OS™ C++ application Symbian Signed™ without involving a test house and here is some general advice.
This new signing option is available, once registered and logged in, on the Symbian Signed website.
Tips on using Express Signed
Before using the Express Signed option, make sure that your application has passed all of the tests outlined in the test criteria document. Auditing will be performed by an independent test house.
To use this new signing option, a Publisher ID is required. In addition to the cost for the Publisher ID, there will be a USD 20 fee per signing event.
All platform security capabilities are available except CommDD, MultimediaDD, NetworkControl, DiskAdmin, DRM, AllFiles, TCB.
Overview guide document to download
The Symbian Developer Network goes into more detail by providing a table summarizing the main features of the new signing options in comparison to existing options and a Symbian Signed guide available as a pdf file. More information>>
