A nominee in the recent Sony Ericsson Content Awards, fring has expanded the list of supported IM providers to include Yahoo! and AIM on Symbian OS devices. For existing users these new services can be accessed without updating their software. Simply open Settings and then Configure services and the two mew options will appear at the end of the services list.

Note VoIP is not yet available for Yahoo and AIM.

However, those running fring on a UIQ phone might want to upgrade and take advantage of WISPr. This technology (which is already available to S60 device users) enables seamlessly roaming between WiFi networks. So now, in addition to transferring between a home WiFi network and 3G, fring should be able to log onto any hotspot from a provider where credentials have already been registered.
