Transpera Brings New 'Peek' Pre-Roll Ads to Mobile Video Print E-mail
Written by Transpera
Monday, 05 November 2007

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 5  -- Transpera, the next generation mobile video company that helps businesses create mobile video experiences and generate new revenue, today announced the availability of new "Peek" pre-roll video advertising for the mobile video market.

The innovative advertising unit allows brands to easily take advantage of two of the hottest media trends today -- the proliferation of mobile video devices and the popularity of emerging social media.

"Peek" pre-rolls are 5-10 second mobile video ads, targeted based on content usage and demographics, and inserted server side in real-time to ensure rapid delivery with no lengthy rebuffering. With both a mobile video content delivery platform and an advertising platform, Transpera's system provides superior targeting and user experiences in the mobile video market.

"Mobile audiences are consuming content in 'bites' commensurate with the time they have, thus in order to get in front of them your messages need to be very short and targeted," said Linda Barrabee, Program Manager for Mobile Research at Yankee Group. "If a consumer sees an ad that is entertaining they are  much more likely to be engaged -- but not for long."

Television networks and advertising firms that are expressing interest in the innovation include ad agency Mindshare/Team Detroit, focused on Ford Motor Co., and Fox Reality Channel, the only all-reality, all-the-time cable network.

"Our brands are always seeking to reach consumers in new, innovative ways and show off their exciting lineup of products," said Brian Bos, Vice President/Convergence Director, Mindshare -- Team Detroit.  "Transpera's Peek pre-roll unit offers the potential for great consumer engagement to an increasingly valuable market."

Both the mobile video market and the market for mobile advertising are poised for significant growth. Research firm eMarketer predicts the mobile advertising market to reach $14 billion by 2011, marketers and advertisers are looking for innovative ways to integrate mobile channels into their campaigns. Transpera provides tangible benefits for these campaigns, with highly targeted messages, dynamic server-side targeting and insertion, increased audience acceptance and high brand impact.

"As the mobile video market continues to explode, Fox Reality Channel is dedicated to reaching fans of reality on the devices they love, in a way that is consistent with our brand and overall video content efforts," said Ed Skolarus, Vice President of Business Operations for Fox Reality Channel. "Transpera's vision to marry an easy to use mobile viral video solution with strong advertising sensibilities will be the next step towards a successful integrated mobile strategy."

"The fundamental challenge content companies and marketers face today is not only how to take advantage of the tremendous potential of mobile video but also keeping up with the rapid evolution of the mobile industry itself," said Frank Barbieri, Chief Executive Officer for Transpera. "Transpera helps demystify the opportunities with a video content and advertising platform for major brands and content providers, such as Ford and Fox Reality Channel, that provides an easy to understand solution with consistent and valuable reach to a large and growing market."

About Transpera
Transpera helps businesses create mobile video experiences and generate new revenue. The company provides online video publishers with an easy way to add a rich mobile experience for their users, and in doing so, extend their brands to mobile while generating new, highly targeted mobile advertising inventory and subscription content services. For mobile operators Transpera provides easy ways to package and aggregate online video companies on deck to generate new value-added data services and subscription opportunities. And for advertisers the company provides high value reach to lucrative mobile audiences with positive and compelling inventory that consumers repeatedly use and distribute to their friends, family, and colleagues.
