Liquid Air Lab Acquires Finnish Smartphone Software Platform Specialist Rocket Science Oy Print E-mail
Written by Liquid Air Lab
Tuesday, 23 October 2007
Rocket Science, founded in 2002, developed the Poison framework which allows XML-based UI development on Symbian Series 60, UIQ, Windows Mobile and Linux platforms with just one codebase. In the Poison framework, the mobile operating system abstraction layer of the framework handles the OS differences, and enables development for different handsets without rewriting the application code. The Rocket Science team will now operate out of Tampere in the offices of Liquid Air Lab Finland Oy.

Liquid Air Lab Finalized Acquisition of Rocket Science Oy, One of the Leading Symbian, Windows Mobile and Linux Multimedia Software Developers in Finland

About Liquid Air Lab

Liquid Air Lab was founded in May 2002 by Mikko Linnamäki (CEO) and Tero Katajainen (CTO). With headquarters in Stuttgart and offices in Berlin, Berkeley (California, U.S.A.) and Tampere (Finland), Liquid Air Lab today has over 40 employees.

The company combines different business areas: its spodtronic mobile software represents the first worldwide Radio and Podcast content hub; while its spodtronic live! platform provides users with exclusive live concerts from BBC Radio International, thus enabling a Total Radio Experience.

With its adplace.com business unit, Liquid Air Lab enables audio and video podcast advertising in a premium network, being an exclusive ad seller of the podcast portfolios of Pro7Sat1 as well as an exclusive partner of RMS, the largest private radio advertising network in Germany.

The company is privately held and is backed by Benchmark Capital and Baytech Venture Capital. For more information, visit www.LiquidAirLab.com.
