DivX’s service to offer high quality video experience to mobile phones users globally

Fremont and San Diego, CA — October 18, 2007 — Nexage (www.Nexage.com), a leading mobile video solution provider, announced that it is powering a new mobile video service from DivX, Inc.  (Nasdaq: DIVX) (http://mobilemedia.divx.com/), which will provide users with a high quality video experience on their mobile phones globally. Nexage’s PhoneCast platform enables the delivery of high quality video to millions of devices worldwide.

Delivering high-quality Mobile Video and TV services effectively and reliably is a challenging problem, requiring, among other tasks, integration of many different technologies, creation of mobile portals, ingestion of a wide variety of video and audio formats, transcoding of content, and streaming delivery solutions. Specific challenges include integration with wireless networks from different operators, which often differ greatly in delivery technology, network speeds, and the types of handsets available on the network.  Nexage’s PhoneCast platform is a highly reliable, carrier-grade solution that is easy to use for both media content providers and end users. It supports full social networking capabilities that enable communities to be built around content.  Some other key features of the PhoneCast platform include:

·         Support for both 3GP and Windows based 2.5G and 3G mobile phones

·         No requirement of client installation on mobile device

·         Support for professional media and user generated content

·         Auto Ingestion and encoding of over 140 video and audio formats via FTP, Web, RSS, email, MMS

·         A Content Management System providing full support for testing, managing, and publishing

·         Full reporting capabilities to track subscribers, content partners and billing.

·         Optimization of streaming delivery based on automatic detection of phone, wireless carrier, and country location

·         Integration with mobile advertising networks such as Third Screen Media, AdMob, Millennial Media and others, to supply text, image and video ads via the Nexage video stitching technology

All of these options combine into one easy-to-use and easy-to-manage platform-based solution for a variety of partners.

“DivX is a perfect partner for Nexage given that they are well-known for their high quality compression technology and strong consumer brand,” said Dev Gandhi, CEO of NEXAGE.  “We are excited to have the opportunity to work with them to create an outstanding DivX® mobile experience based upon our proven PhoneCast platform.”

“Nexage provides an innovative mobile solution that complements the interoperability promise of the DivX ecosystem,” said Russell Paik, Senior Director and General Manager, Mobile Solutions at DivX.  “We are dedicated to offering our users a high-quality media experience across all ‘three screens’—the PC, the television and the mobile device—and we are excited to be working with Nexage to make this vision a reality.”
