SYSOPENDIGIA has announced the release of EUnit Pro Carbide plug-in, an essential add-on to Carbide C++ IDE (Integrated Development Environment). The plug-in allows automation of test creation and execution which significantly increases the code quality in software projects.
The EUnit Pro Carbide plug-in is the natural evolution of the EUnit product, a de facto standard for automated unit and module testing in Symbian environment. By embedding it with Carbide C++ IDE, the testing phase can better be integrated within the development cycle, providing tremendous productivity gains in software development.
The EUnit Pro Carbide plug-in, which will be available later this year, will offer the same level of functionalities as the EUnit Pro 4.x, allowing developers to automate the test case creation and the test execution phases. Furthermore, the increased effort set on path test generation offers developers and project management a solid, easy and quick solution to automatically generate test cases for legacy code, allowing software development project to deal with a homogeneous level of code quality to perform on their tasks. Finally, the EUnit Pro Carbide plug-in offers an intuitive interface to define and set the target environment (emulator or devices) while displaying the result of the test run as they are executed.
Kai Tulonen, Chief Technology Officer, SYSOPENDIGIA, says: “We are glad to present this new version. The evolution of EUnit demonstrates SYSOPENDIGIA’s willingness to play a key role in the Symbian tool chain, while providing the Symbian ecosystem with a powerful and easy to use tool. This version allows a full and proper integration of the early testing phase with the software development cycle, bringing better code quality right from the start of each project, which is paramount for a successful commercial software release. Additionally, the latest integrated feature, called the “path test”, offers an easy and rapid solution to properly handle legacy code, which too often drags behind in terms of quality”.

The EUnit Pro Carbide Plug-in will be presented at the Smartphone show, in London, October 16-17th. Please visit SYSOPENDIGIA at stand number 36 to see EUnit Pro Carbide Plug-in in action.
