Sony Ericsson's Java™ Platform 8 (JP-8) supports Mobile Services Architecture (MSA), the next-generation Java umbrella standard (JSR 248) and this opens up a myriad of exiting possibilities for developers.
The next Developer World Wiki competition gives registered Community members who work with the Java ME Platform a chance to share their knowledge about the JSRs supported by MSA. The article sharing the most helpful and innovative use of these JSRs contributed by a registered Developer World member will win a JP-8 phone, the new W910 Walkman®. All articles need to be published in the Java ME Wiki section by 23.59 Central European Time (CET) on October 20, 2007.
The new JSRs supported by JP-8 are:
- JSR 211 Content Handler API
- JSR 179 Location API
- JSR 177 Security and Trust Services API
- JSR 239 Java Binding for the OpenGL® ES API
- JSR 238 Mobile Internationalization API
- JSR 229 Payment API
- JSR 226 Scalable 2D Vector Graphics API for J2ME
- JSR 180 SIP API
- JSR 234 Advanced Multimedia Supplements
