What originally began in Helsinki, Finland, and has in a grass roots fashion, taken the mobile world by storm, now has a Mid-Atlantic chapter to engage those in Central and Southern New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Energizing region as hot bed for mobile funding and innovation.
September 18, 2007 (Philadelphia, PA)—Beginning September 24th, mobile innovators in the Mid-Atlantic region will be able to converge monthly at Mobile Monday (www.momo-ma.com).
The free inaugural event, which takes place Monday, September 24 from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm at the Union League Club in Philadelphia promises to be the beginning of many interactive and enlightening sessions to create a mobile economic development engine in the region. Attendees include start-ups, venture capitalists and regional corporations with a common interest in wireless mobility.
Mobile Monday is a global community of wireless professionals that fosters like-minded folks to learn from each other, network and interact. “The grass roots, open source principles of Mobile Monday resonated with fellow co-founders Brad Blumberg, Rick Rasansky and Jim Drobile which made it easy to get the chapter launched in record time. This new chapter now joins Mobile Monday chapters in New York, DC and Boston to multiply the network effect of wireless mobility in the BosWash corridor” says, JP Finnell, who Co-Chairs the Chapter and is CEO of Mobility Partners, LLC..
The organization is known for its informal yet dynamic atmosphere, making it advantageous to learn about new ideas.
For the first event, there are five panelists that play on the national mobile stage:
• JP Finnell, is the CEO of Mobility Partners, LLC. Formerly Nokia’s General Manager of Professional Services where he produced #1 book on business mobility, “Work Goes Mobile”, JP will have some great insights on enterprise mobility.
• Rick Rasansky, started local Internet high-flyer ECal. Hear what Rick is up to with mobile banking and why.
• Derek Pew will talk to us how he helped launch Wireless Philadelphia, one of the largest wi-fi hot spots in the world, and where he sees mobile broadband going.
• Greg Goldman is the first Chief Executive of Wireless Philadelphia. He will let us know about the social implications of this ground-breaking effort.
• Brad Blumberg, is CEO of regionally based Smarter Agent, is one of the few mobile GPS applications to launch on the wireless carriers deck.
• James Drobile, a startup veteran, will serve as host. He now works at a venture capital firm with offices in the region.
A cash bar and light fare will be provided. To learn more about Mobile Monday’s Mid-Atlantic chapter and to RSVP to the event, please visit www.momo-ma.com. |
