A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!

NANOMATIC today announced that it is making its myrimis available for free use and download. nanonavi is available for Nokia Symbian S60 phones today and Windows-mobile devices in the future.
HONG KONG, LONDON and MIAMI, Sept. 4 -- NANOMATIC today announced that it is making its myrimis - a secure place on earth - and nanonavi - personal navigation on earth - available for free use and download, enabling millions of people to use the most comprehensive-location based social network offered today on personal computers and mobile phones.
The new platform allows the user to set up their own real-life location based social network including family-members, friends, pets and assets like cars, boats, home and create innovative services like virtual-caring for persons and pets and home and car security and control. The application - nanonavi - allows people to view where they are on street and satellite maps, search for family-members, friends, pets, assets and POI's worldwide around them and create routes to get there. nanonavi is available for Nokia Symbian S60 phones today and Windows-mobile devices in the future.
"NANOMATIC believes location context is the most essential future of mobile devices going forward, we see mobile operators and mobile handset makers as a partner that create new solutions and additional revenues on top of what they are doing today," says CTO Nedeljko Miljevic.
"If I find cool places I may want to share the location and pictures with good friends or add comments and share what I have found with others," comments COO Wilson Chan.
"The mobile search element assures advertisers target users who are clearly in buy-mode and are most likely to appreciate the offers as they are relevant to their original search queries," explains CEO August B. Schnabel.
NANOMATIC is founded on many years of experience in the development of complex data networks and geographical information systems. As early as 2000, the company successfully developed telematic systems and portable navigation systems. Since 2004, based on the observation and analysis of the individual and social behaviour patterns of human beings, NANOMATIC has developed modular software products that automatically adapt to the requirements of the individual user. NANOMATIC is backed up by Venture Capital from Asia and USA.
