Introducing Glide Write 2.0: A Mobile Collaborative Word Processor to Create Media Rich Documents With Offline and Online Access. Glide Write 2.0 is available today at http://www.glideos.com
NEW YORK, Aug. 28 -- The Glide Write word processor is a mobile collaborative platform for word processing where you can create media rich documents and securely edit and share from your desktop or mobile device. Glide Write features tightly integrated email, project management and live conferencing capabilities making it possible for an unlimited number of Glide users and non-users to collaborate on documents.
"With the emergence of ultra mobile computing devices, efficient use of screen space is critical," said TransMedia Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. "Glide Write's user interface was designed to provide a bigger sweet spot for creating your documents and to support touch screens. This makes for a much improved user experience particularly on smaller laptops, Ultra Mobile Personal Computers (UMPCs) and Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs).

Gliding Offline the Right Way
Glide has provided offline-viewing access of Glide Write documents and other files for sometime now. On September 26th, we will be launching feature rich local word processing and spreadsheet applications for Windows, Mac and Linux PCs leveraging a single code base (C / C++).
"The Glide OS effectively provides all the benefits of cloud computing without giving up the functionality that we have become accustomed to in traditional software," said Mr. Leka. "Pure browser based plays like Google Gears provide the ability to take browser based applications offline but the browser is simply not designed to support complex software applications."
"The fact that Glide has a data-centric strategy rather than an application centric approach has made it possible to push and pull data to and from virtually any device online and offline," said Mr. Leka. "Without the constraints of legacy software or conversely the limitations of the browser, the Glide data-centric model, synchronized, compatible and mobile with integrated local and online productivity applications is well positioned to be the mobile OS and application platform of the future."
