Traffic.com Expands City Offerings in Time for Labor Day Road Trips Print E-mail
Written by NAVTEQ
Tuesday, 28 August 2007

WAYNE, Penn., Aug. 28 -- Traffic.com, a NAVTEQ company (NYSE: NVT), and a leading provider of personalized traffic information, today announced expanded U.S. coverage and increased local content that will make driving easier for Labor Day weekend travelers. Recent enhancements to the Traffic.com Web site will also help people navigate congestion during the back-to-school traffic rush.

Site visitors have immediate access to increased local information on new City Area pages as well as within free MyTraffic(TM) alerting solutions delivered via email, voice and mobile device. The City Area pages feature the following enhancements:

* Detailed state-of-the-art interactive traffic mapping

* Expanded traffic flow with travel times on more city roadways

* Quick and easy access to pertinent local traffic-related information including:

-- Incidents - accidents, disabled vehicles, police activity, etc.

-- Roadwork - unscheduled and scheduled construction

-- Mass Transit - delays, detours and incidents

-- Events - current and future local events, like ballgames

-- Emergency Alerts - traffic problems, public safety advisories, etc.

The combination of enhanced map detail with full pan and zoom interactivity allows drivers to easily view multi-city traffic conditions. With its expanded geographic reach, Traffic.com now measures and reports traffic speeds for most major roadways in more than 100 markets across the U.S.

As the first stop for pre-drive planning, Traffic.com provides a full range of traffic solutions for drivers who want to take control of their daily commutes and weekend drives. With MyTraffic(TM) personalized traffic solutions, drivers get exactly the traffic information they need -- whenever, wherever, and however they want it -- completely free of charge. "Drivers hitting the road this Labor Day weekend will be guided by the Traffic.com's proprietary data processing that handles, on average, 50 million real time traffic data records daily," commented John MacLeod, Senior Vice President of NAVTEQ.

For traffic information on-demand, drivers call Traffic.com's free traffic hotline at 1-866-MY-TRAFC (1-866-698-7232) or text their saved drive name or city code to TRAFC (87232). On-the-go users can access the Traffic.com mobile Web site at http://mobi.traffic.com, via their Web-enabled cell phone or mobile device browser, for city roadway reports or their MyTraffic personalized drive updates.
