Visto and PTS Consulting Announce Partnership to Drive Push Mobile Email to Japanese Enterprises Print E-mail
Written by Visto
Friday, 10 August 2007
Visto Corporation and PTS Consulting Japan, today announced a partnership agreement to deliver Visto Mobile™ to capture the growing opportunity for delivering push-based mobile email to large and medium-sized Japanese companies.

Universal Music Selects New Visto-powered Service to Help Mobile Professionals Stay Connected and Increase Productivity

"We are pleased to be partnering with Visto to offer a corporate wireless email solution that meets the unique needs of the Japanese market," said Kenshou Kojima, Chairman of PTS Consulting Japan. "We are confident that the Visto Mobile service will provide a strategic solution to our clients that is both secure and affordable."

This agreement makes PTS the first major partner to offer a flat-rate, network neutral push email service that is available across a wide breadth of device choices and meets the demands of enterprises in Japan. The first customer of this strategic partnership, Universal Music Group, the world's largest music company, has selected the Visto-powered service to deliver increased productivity and maximize efficiencies to all of its mobile workers across Japan.

"After evaluating other large providers, we chose Visto Mobile and PTS Consulting because they had the only solution that offers a Japanese localized push-based mobile email service that was available across a wide range of device choices," said Nobuko Suzuki, vice chairman and CFO for Universal Music Japan. "We have already begun to see productivity improvements and look forward to further success with a proven solution that offers the scalability and security required for large enterprises."

PTS will work closely with other Visto partners such as SOFTBANK MOBILE, HTC and Nokia to further accelerate the adoption of push mobile email with a competitive wireless voice and data access plan.

"We are very pleased to further strengthen and expand our existing strategic relationship with Visto by welcoming PTS as our solution partner for wireless push email services," said Yoshinari Shiraishi, General Manager, Business Marketing Department, Enterprise Business Division, SOFTBANK MOBILE. "We fully expect that Visto Mobile in combination with PTS' support from initial consultation to post-deployment maintenance, will facilitate the rapid adoption of the enterprise-ready 'X series' mobile devices into Japanese corporations. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with both Visto and PTS to deliver real business solutions to our mutual customers."

"We are delighted to have entered into a new partnership ecosystem in one of the largest mobile communities in the world with distinguished service providers such as PTS, Nokia, HTC and SOFTBANK MOBILE," said Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto. "With a push mobile email service that is uniquely available on the widest variety of smartphones in the Japanese language, Visto is committed to meeting the needs of large global enterprises like Universal Music."

Visto Partner Quotes

Nokia Japan

"Since the introduction of the Nokia E61 to the Japanese market last year, it has become a popular business device based on its rich capabilities and features. The Nokia E61 is a SIM lock free device, therefore companies using multiple operator's (U)SIM cards can easily setup a connection with the Nokia E61," said Masanari Arai, country general manager, Nokia Japan Enterprise Solutions. "By collaborating and tightly integrating with Visto's push email service, we are able to offer business users a simplified user experience across a wide variety of Nokia handsets - key ingredients for encouraging adoption across a broad range of business users."

HTC Nippon

"Mobile users today are increasingly looking for sophisticated devices such as the hTc Z and SoftBank X01HT where style, communication and productivity are key to market success," said Jennifer Chang, country manager of HTC Nippon.
