New Sony Ericsson Firmware Available

 As promised Sony Ericsson appear to have rolled out new firmware updates for the P990 and W950.
Back in June Sony Ericsson announced that there would be no further firmware updates for the UIQ 3 powered P990 and W950. This created something of a backlash and the company backed down, promising new updates in August. It all seemed a little unfair on Sony Ericsson, as it could have simply have not announced any future plans. Sometime honesty is not good PR.
Anyway, with August barely begun it appears that Sony Ericsson has been true to its word and new updates to the P990 and W950 firmware are now available through the Update Service.
Thanks to the folks at All About Symbian, who seem to have spotted the update first.
One final note, the P1 is also now listed in Update Manager. Unfortunately we are not able to check if this means a new firmware for that device, but if you are lucky enough to have one it might be worth checking.
