Nokia's head of mapping, navigation and search to drive product expansion at mobile messaging service provider

August 1st, 2007 - London, UK - Mobile messaging services provider TynTec (www.tyntec.com) today announces that Ralph Eric Kunz, an original cofounder of the business, has resigned his senior role at Nokia to focus on his entrepreneurial role with the company.

Previously Nokia's head of mapping, navigation and search, Kunz will be focusing on his existing role as Chairman of TynTec to identify additional strategic growth options and to accelerate TynTec's business growth.  In particular, he will be driving forward product innovations developing on TynTec's core SS7 connected infrastructure. TynTec is a cash rich company that is looking at both organic and non-organic growth scenarios.

In his last position with Nokia, Kunz was Vice President  and General Manager of Nokia's mapping, navigation and search business. Previously he held positions in charge of Nokia's corporate Business Development, Voice-Over-IP and Internet Services activities. Here he worked closely with internet companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo and Skype.

Michael Kowalzik, CEO of TynTec, said: "Ralph's deep insight into the transformation of the telecommunications industry and the convergence of the various industry players, will help us to boost the expansion of our product and business portfolio."

Ralph Eric Kunz, co-founder of TynTec, said:"Having more time to spend on working with TynTec means that I can leverage the learnings and contacts that I've made at Nokia for the benefit of a company I cofounded and co-own. TynTec's infrastructure will prove to be a valuable building block for many players that want to extend their fixed internet services to the mobile domain."
