A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!
Mobileplay users can now post their favorite videos from around the
Internet to personal WAP 2.0 pages thanks to collaboration with
blueapple.mobi.
From Mobileplay.com, users are able to search over 10 million video clips and
save the ones they like with a single click.
Bands and producers can find their own videos on sites like YouTube or Metacafe
using this capability and promote them via Mobilplay. Video bloggers can add their own work to personal pages, and individual users
can share videos of parties or trips, or the funniest thing they saw on YouTube
that week. In all cases, there is no need to worry about video formatting, user location,
or network capability – blueapple.mobi handles all the heavy lifting.
James Ryan, CEO of Mobileplay spoke about the new product on Monday, “Whether
it’s a music video from their favorite band, a home movie from their vacation,
or just a dog on a skateboard, what we watch and what we show our friends is a
huge part of who we are. The Mobileplay community is about expressing your individuality and we’re thrilled
that blueapple’s technology can make that happen for our users with a single click.”
“blueapple.mobi was designed to help users find and share the wealth of video
already on the Internet,” said Scott Miller, VP Business Development of blueapple.mobi. “We are happy to be working with Mobileplay to allow mobile users to express
themselves and communicate in new ways.”
