Have you updated your Nokia PC Suite recently? Print E-mail

PC Suite, the PC-based companion utility for Nokia smartphone users is now sitting at release 6.84.10.3... do you have the most current release in use? The application was last updated July 4, 2007.

Released july 4, 20078, this latest version provides the following enhancements:

  • Offers enhancements to performance and stability
  • Enables the synchronization of files and folders between PC and phone
  • Notifies when new add-on applications are available

What is it?
Nokia PC Suite is a free PC software product designed to help you make the most of your Nokia phone. With Nokia PC Suite, you can connect your phone to a PC and access mobile content as if the phone and the PC were one.

Keep your mobile in synch with your Notebook

The latest version offers loads of updates and a whole new look and feel... most notably,
how about one-click transfer of music from your CDs?

Other things you can do with PC Suite include:

  • connect your phone to the PC via Bluetooth, cable, or Infra red (IR). If your PC or notebook doesn't have Bluetooth you can always get yourself a Bluetooth aapter or dongle.
  • backup data from your phone. The PC Suite backup app enables users to create a backup of almost anything you keep on your mobile device. this is a very handy utility to have for when you get that new device. Imagine this... backup all your contacts and data from the old device, then restore on your new phone.
  • restore data to your phone from a backup. Its a good ide to generate a backup before you ever try to update your device firmware
  • transfer data (photos, files, videoes. or ??)
  • synchronize your PC contacts and email with your mobile
  • synch your calendar
  • install software. This is a convenine method to install games and other apps, rather than downloading installation files OTS (particularly if you pay for data transfers)
  • while on the road without Internet access of WiFi you can connect your PC to the Internet via phone connection. Keep in mind you'll want to be within reach of your carrier's coverage otherwise you may be subject to some crazy roaming fees... careful with this one!
  • manage files on your phone with the PC Suite file explorer
  • create and send messages on your PC using your mobile
  • view and convert videos to a mobile compatible format
  • store images... a fast and simple method to move images off your mobile and onto your PC
  • transfer music files from a CD Rom of from your PC to your mobile - the PC Suite application rips music from a CD and converts it to a mobile optimized AAC+ format.
  • more!

In order to get the most out of your PC Suite I suggest you check out the handy user guide and spend a few minutes watching the companion tutorial video clips... very useful!
