It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. PC Suite, the PC-based companion utility for Nokia smartphone users is now sitting
at release 6.84.10.3... do you have the most current release in use? The application
was last updated July 4, 2007.
Released july 4, 20078, this latest version provides the following enhancements:
Offers enhancements to performance and stability
Enables the synchronization of files and folders between PC and phone
Notifies when new add-on applications are available
What is it?
Nokia PC Suite is a free PC software product designed to help you make the most
of your Nokia phone. With Nokia PC Suite, you can connect your phone to a PC and
access mobile content as if the phone and the PC were one.
Keep your mobile in synch with your Notebook
The latest version offers loads of updates and a whole new look and feel... most
notably,
how about one-click transfer of music from your CDs?
Other things you can do with PC Suite include:
connect your phone to the PC via Bluetooth, cable, or Infra red (IR). If your
PC or notebook doesn't have Bluetooth you can always get yourself a Bluetooth
aapter or dongle.
backup data from your phone. The PC Suite backup app enables users to create
a backup of almost anything you keep on your mobile device. this is a very handy
utility to have for when you get that new device. Imagine this... backup all your
contacts and data from the old device, then restore on your new phone.
restore data to your phone from a backup. Its a good ide to generate a backup
before you ever try to update your device firmware
transfer data (photos, files, videoes. or ??)
synchronize your PC contacts and email with your mobile
synch your calendar
install software. This is a convenine method to install games and other apps,
rather than downloading installation files OTS (particularly if you pay for data
transfers)
while on the road without Internet access of WiFi you can connect your PC to
the Internet via phone connection. Keep in mind you'll want to be within reach
of your carrier's coverage otherwise you may be subject to some crazy roaming
fees... careful with this one!
manage files on your phone with the PC Suite file explorer
create and send messages on your PC using your mobile
view and convert videos to a mobile compatible format
store images... a fast and simple method to move images off your mobile and onto
your PC
transfer music files from a CD Rom of from your PC to your mobile - the PC Suite
application rips music from a CD and converts it to a mobile optimized AAC+ format.
