SHAPE Services announced today the availability of three beta versions of IM+
for Skype Software for Java phones, Symbian S60 and Palm OS.
STUTTGART, Germany, June 19 - These beta versions are intended for people, who
want to make cheap mobile calls within Skype ecosystem and to landline numbers.
Since Java version of the application works on all Java-enabled phones including
smartphones with Symbian OS, Skype on mobile is now available for hundreds of
millions users worldwide. SHAPE welcomes everyone to participate in a beta round
and experience Skype features on the new platforms.
IM+ for Skype Software lets the users "experience a new era in the AlwaysOn world"
as noted by Jim Courtney, Skype Journal's editor and a big fan of Skype.
Released in May, IM+ for Skype Software for BlackBerry handhelds brought a possibility
of Skype communication through SkypeOut to the mobile environment. IM+ for Skype
Software uses SkypeOut credits for voice communication ensuring cost-effective
calls to any number around the globe. For users of Skype Unlimited and Skype Pro

fees. Additionally, users may chat and conduct call conferences with a number
of contacts.
The final versions of IM+ for Skype Software for Palm OS, Java and Symbian phones
are expected to be released till the end of June. In the coming months SHAPE Services
is going to release IM+ for Skype versions for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone,
enabling Skype communications on mobile in any network and without WiFi.
