UIQ Technology strengthens management team Print E-mail
Written by UIQ Technology
Wednesday, 11 April 2007
UIQ Technology, provider of the open software platform UIQ to world leading mobile phone manufacturers such as Sony Ericsson and Motorola, today formally announced the appointment of a strengthened management team, including three new members.

Ronneby, Sweden, 11 April 2007 - I am happy to welcome three very skilled and experienced new members to the team, says Johan Sandberg, CEO of UIQ Technology. They are all senior executives with a wealth of combined experience within the mobile industry, which is of highest importance when we are now entering a new corporate phase. I am confident this team will be instrumental in taking UIQ Technology to the next level of business.

The new management team members on board are: Paul Burwood, Vice President Marketing and Sales, Lotta Hauffman, Vice President Human Resources and Mats Barvesten, Vice President Product Management.

Paul Burwood recently left his position as Global Sales & Strategy Director at Ernst & Young, becoming VP Sales and Marketing at UIQ Technology. Paul has 15 proven years of experience in the sales and marketing of high technology products, services and solutions. He held a position as Director WW Advanced Technology Programme at Hewlett-Packard where he was based in HPs Corporate Office of Strategy and Technology and was responsible for developing and implementing the company's strategic plan to enter new markets.

Lotta Hauffman will take on the position as VP Human Resources. Lotta has wide experience of the Human Resources area, having spent several years within Vodafone, currently as HR Director at Vodafone Sweden, nowadays a part of Telenor, where she has implemented global HR processes and managed a number of projects within the HR area. She will start her new position at UIQ Technology on 2 May, 2007.

Mats Barvesten has enjoyed successful careers within mobile telecommunications, including management of strategies, business development and product- and project development. Mats joined Ericsson in 1989 and participated in creating the mobile telephone business division. At the start of Sony Ericsson he headed up Product Planning and Management of Smartphones and in 2003 Mats was asked to become Head of Portfolio Planning, a position he has held until now. Mats starts his new position as VP Product Management at UIQ Technology on 1 June, 2007.

In addition to the three new members, the management team will also include Johan Sandberg, CEO, Peter Molin, CTO, Jonas Lindeborg, VP Software Development, Michael Sderlund, VP Professional Services and Mikael Nordgren, Acting CFO.
