Nokia N95 Multimedia Computer Selling in the United States Print E-mail
Written by Nokia
Tuesday, 10 April 2007
Nokia (NYSE:NOK) announced today that the much heralded Nokia N95 has started selling in the United States at Nokia Flagship stores, online and through select wireless retailers.

Nokia responds to public demand and brings its most eagerly anticipated multimedia computer to the US

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 9 -- The Nokia N95 is an all-in-one multimedia computer that truly demonstrates what the Internet has to offer by bringing the net together with the latest in wireless communication technology. The Nokia N95 features a unique 2-way slide design for easy switching between phone, music or video mode. It is also equipped with WiFi connectivity, integrated GPS functionality and a 5 megapixel camera featuring Carl Zeiss optics.

"The Nokia N95 easily replaces a number of single purpose devices with a well designed package that encompasses a fast and powerful multimedia computer," said Bill Plummer, Vice President, Sales & Channel Management, Multimedia, Nokia North America. "The Nokia N95 is a personal, powerful and connected device that is optimized for music, video and to conveniently access anything on the World Wide Web."

The Nokia N95 arrived at the Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago this weekend and they experienced a rush of eager fans, some that have been on the waiting list for months.

"It was a great feeling to be able to open the doors on Saturday for some very enthusiastic Nokia customers, who have been anticipating this day for months", said Winston Wright, head of Nokia Retail Operations, Nokia Americas. "We are now able to respond to consumer demand by selling the desirable Nokia N95 with a full US warranty and localized customer support, and with customers driving in all the way from Delaware and Massachusetts; we know this is the right way to go."

Aspiring photographers and film makers don't have to stop at just capturing stunning images and DVD-like quality video with the Nokia N95. With instant access to the Internet, sharing life experiences with the world by uploading pictures and videos directly to popular picture sharing and blogging sites is quick and easy. An integrated photo and video editor allows for music and tags to be added before sending images to friends or uploading them to the web. The included TV-out cable allows for instant playback to a TV or PC.

A digital media player with dedicated control keys that can store your music and videos on the included 1GB microSD card, the Nokia N95 provides music enthusiasts with a crisp, clear sound via built-in stereo speakers or a 3.5 mm stereo headset.

With its integrated GPS and Nokia Maps application, finding the way is easy. The Nokia Maps application includes maps for more than 150 countries, enabling users to explore the world, find specific routes or locate services such as restaurants and hotels and covering more than 15 million points of interest. Additional features, such as city guides and voice guided navigation are also available for purchase.

The Nokia N95 runs on WLAN as well as EDGE/GSM 850/900/1800/2100 and WCDMA/HSDPA 2100 networks -- providing excellent coverage and connection speeds -- and is based on S60 operating on the Symbian OS, the world's leading mobile software platform, enabling users to personalize their device by choosing from a wide choice of compatible applications that can be downloaded, including games, navigation, entertainment, productivity and creativity.

The global variant of the Nokia N95 is selling at www.nseries.com , Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago, and at retailers and local dealers in major markets including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $749.
