BERWYN, Penn., and NEW YORK, March 28 -- TruePosition, Inc., a leading provider
of wireless location solutions and a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation (attributed
to its Liberty Capital Group), announced today that it is partnering with GPShopper,
a leading mobile technology provider, to offer a new location aware shopping service.
This partnership combines GPShopper's established mobile product search applications
with TruePosition's innovative wireless location platform providing wireless operators
with a turnkey solution for offering carrier-branded and white-labeled services
to meet local search and mobile shopping needs.
By bringing together multiple product inventories, mobile product search capabilities,
and the ability to accurately locate mobile phones, TruePosition and GPShopper
will transform the shopping experience by enabling consumers to use their mobile
phones to easily find products and promotions at local retail stores.
This combined service offering will further the value a mobile phone presents
to its users, which in turn, will increase data usage and as a result increase
ARPU (Average Revenue per User). In addition, it will drive revenue from large
corporations with global brands, as well as local retailers looking to access
active mobile shoppers.
This location aware shopping application is the newest addition to TruePosition's
portfolio of consumer-facing Location Based Services. TruePosition offers a full
suite of next-generation Location Based Services for the consumer, enterprise,
and safety and security markets.
