DDH Software Launches its Acclaimed HanDBase Relational Database for Symbian UIQ Smartphones Print E-mail
Written by DDH Software
Tuesday, 06 March 2007
DDH Software, Inc. has announced that its HanDBase relational database application is now available to mobile users owning Symbian UIQ handsets, including popular devices like the Sony-Ericsson P800, P900, P910, Motorola A1000 and others.

New HanDBase users to have immediate access to thousands of free database applications available in DDH Software’s Applet Gallery

This version of HanDBase comes with a desktop version that enables users to create and manage their information before transferring the data to their mobile devices for anytime/anywhere access and data entry.

When HanDBase was first introduced in 1998, it targeted PDA users with Palm OS based handheld devices. But since that time, DDH Software has furthered its reach within the mobile market by releasing versions for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Symbian S60 (Series 60) and most recently S60 3rd Edition devices. HanDBase has earned multiple awards along the way, from respected names like ZDNet, Pocket PC Magazine, Handheld Computing, and most recently winning the best industry application award for its Windows Mobile Pocket PC version. And now, users of UIQ smartphones can create their own custom database programs for both personal and business use and always have access to the information they need. HanDBase allows mobile device users to store volumes of custom designed data that can be easily viewed, edited, filtered, sorted, and searched as needed.

With the HanDBase Desktop application, users can design their own databases from scratch or start from any of the thousands of free applets available at ddhsoftware.com—-all of which have been created and submitted by HanDBase users. Users can transfer the database to the handset for convenient handheld access and data entry. Beyond its full-featured editing and design capabilities, HanDBase Desktop allows users to export files in Excel, Word, CSV, HTML or XML formats. Additional add-ons support transfer to and from Microsoft Access and other ODBC enabled database applications.

“We are maintaining our goal of reaching users on the most popular mobile devices” said David Haupert, president of DDH Software. “There are so many professionals using HanDBase in applications ranging from Medical, Construction, Sales, Service, and Personal use. We just want to be sure they can continue using the best mobile database availableno matter which smartphone device they choose to carry.”

HanDBase for UIQ retails for US$19.99 and is available at the company’s Web site, DDHSoftware.com, or through Handango.com.
