A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!

BLStream, a provider of mobile blogging solutions, has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for Symbian smartphones. "BLStream believes that one button use with an intuitive and easy to use interface provides the type of on-the-go freedom that will take mobile blogging to mass market", said Samuli Koski-Lammi, CEO, BLStream. "The widespread availability and affordability of the new Symbian smartphones allow mobile users to publish text, photos and recorded sounds quickly and easily. The ability to capture and share the moment as it happens creates a fun and a very rewarding end user experience. The newest SIP features are one of the main differentiators in our product platform; they add unique and truly interactive community features to mobile blogging."
For service providers and mobile operators, the Blogia mobile blogging client-server solution offers revenue stream enablers and added brand value with support for customized branding. The newest SIP version of the Blogia client software for Symbian OS v9, along with the corresponding server software, enables subscriptions and invitations for viewing and contributing to the content that blogs offer. This feature enables end-users to get instant notifications about new blog postings and comments and thus increases service usage. Through remote configuration, licensing and branding, flexible business model support, customer retention, viral growth and ARPU boost for existing messaging investments, BLStream Blogia enables full provisioning of social media.

"With the growing social media phenomenon, mobile subscribers expect to access and contribute information and rich-media content on blog sites directly from their Symbian smartphones," said Jerry Panagrossi, vice president of US operations, Symbian. "BLStream's Blogia mobile blogging solution addresses this need by providing a robust client-server solution that enables operators to offer branded blogging services as a new source for driving data service revenues."
Symbian enables a thriving ecosystem of partners, handset vendors, operators, developers and other key mobile players that create value for the growing smartphone market. This value is cultivated by the continuing development and commercialization of new software solutions and award-winning applications for Symbian OS and its user interface platforms including MOAP, S60 and UIQ.
BLStream
"The open standards and flexibility of Symbian OS are driving the kind of innovation that allows BLStream to demonstrate fully the power and value of Blogia on today's leading smartphones and we are delighted to collaborate with Symbian as a member of the Symbian Platinum Partner," - said Jacek Lisowski, Principal Technologist at BLStream.
