It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Odendahl SEPT-Solutions has announced the release of MobileOffice for S60 2nd Edition devices and its free for these devices. MobileOffice is the first and only application for Symbian (or any other mobile platform) that enables users to read OpenDocument format files on the go.
Mobile Office for S60 is an office suite for the new OpenDocument format. With MobileOffice, user now read OpenDocument files on their mobile to provide anytime, anywhere access.
The OpenDocument format is also used by other well known dektop applications such as OpenOffice, StarOffice and KOffice. With Mobile Office, you can read those files on the road without the need to convert them to other formats as well as compromising on formatting and ODF features.
Key features include:
open OpenDocument text(.odt), spreadsheet(.ods) and presentation(.odp)
view thumbnail image
get information about subject, title, keywords and other meta information
get statistics about paragraph count, words and pages
zoom and fullscreen
search
view of changes
Formatting supported includes:
all text and highlighting colors
bold and italic
underline as well as crossing lines
upper and lower text
left, right and center alignment
left and right margins
bullets and numbering
embedded images
paragraph bordering
full support for footnotes (show them by pressing ok/enter button, if there are more then one, use the arrow keys to scroll)
A version of MobileOffice is already available for S60 3rd Edition devices for $14.99 and a version for UIQ is also planned.
