ShoZu Adds Support for Pikeo, a New Web 2.0 Photo Sharing Community Print E-mail

One-Click Image Uploads Available from ShoZu-Equipped Camera Phones

SAN FRANCISCO--ShoZu Inc. announced today that its free Share-It one-click image uploading application for camera phones now can transmit images to Pikeo (http://www.pikeo.com/), the new photo sharing community recently unveiled by Orange, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators.

Pikeo offers photo storage, tagging and sharing capabilities as well as geotagging that enables members to associate their photos with online maps to show where they were taken. The site is available in English, French and Spanish worldwide.

“Adding Pikeo support is an indication of our commitment to providing the largest possible choice of Web destinations for camera phone users who want to share images as soon as they capture them,” said Dean Wood, Senior Vice President, Commercial for ShoZu. “In addition, carriers like Orange are a critical component of the mobile value chain, and we are actively pursuing opportunities with mobile operators that will be important in ongoing expansion of the ShoZu platform.”

"Pikeo is the first Web 2.0 product in our Open Communities strategy. We're glad to enable Pikeo with one-click upload functionality provided by ShoZu,” said Pascal Thomas, France Telecom NExT.COM Chief Executive.

ShoZu’s Share-It service enables consumers to “shoot and send” camera phone photos and video clips on the spot without transferring the files to a computer or struggling with the complex commands, loss of image quality, or interruption of other activities associated with other uploading methods. In addition to Pikeo, users can use Share-It to send images to Buzznet, Flickr, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Samsung Fun Club, Textamerica, YouTube and Webshots, various personal blogging and citizen-contributed photojournalism sites, and any FTP site or email address.

ShoZu also offers a unique ZuCast service that allows media files from various sources to be downloaded invisibly in the background without the need to open a mobile phone browser, wait for pages to load, interrupt phone calls, start over in the event of a dropped connection, or sync to a PC or Mac. Users simply click the ShoZu icon on their handset, and the latest ZuCasts will be waiting.

ShoZu currently supports 95 handsets, including Symbian Series 60v2 and 60v3, Microsoft Smartphone 2003 and Microsoft Windows Mobile phone-type devices such as the Motorola Q. A full list of supported handsets is available at www.shozu.com.
