Kuala Lumpur – Maxis Communication Berhad, Malaysia’s leading telecommunications
provider announces the launch of MaxGames, the country’s first subscription based
mobile gaming and community portal.
MaxGames runs on FunlogiXTM, the mobile gaming community platform developed by
Ozura Mobile, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mesdaq listed Nextnation Communication
and a leading international publisher and developer of mobile entertainment.
Mobile gaming, a multi billion dollar industry overseas, is fast becoming a staple
amongst Malaysian mobile users. In line with this, Maxis hopes to spur gaming
in the country with MaxGames, an interactive gaming and community portal which
offers subscribers’ a host of benefits and services including tournament games,
multiplayer gaming, clubs and blogs, and a virtual gift shop.
MaxGames’ first batch of tournament games is the Dongeng Series which will run
until December. The Dongeng Series is a group of five games based on popular Malaysian
folklores namely Puteri Gunung Ledang, Pontianak, Badang, Mahsuri and Naga Tasik
Chini.
The portal will also offer Ozura’s multiplayer game, “The Duel Online”. Another
five multiplayer games are slated for release soon.
